Seven Prophetic Insights

by Paulette Reed

One morning, during the pre-dawn hours, Holy Spirit instantaneously “downloaded” seven prophetic insights. I would like to share them at this time.

#1 – We Are Entering into a Season of Increase in the Enemy’s
Battle of the Mind.

How awesome God is to forewarn us so He can forearm us!

In 2 Corinthians 10:3–5, the Lord teaches us about annihilating strongholds. “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.”

A stronghold can be a spiritual fortress where the enemy hides. Strongholds can be in our thoughts and/or attitudes, and they can control individuals, groups, or even nations. They are structures of thinking that are ungodly.

Our Scripture teaches we can destroy every lofty thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God. Therefore, if a thought exalts itself above the knowledge of God…we must capture it! In fact, we not only capture it, we replace it with truth from the Living Word.

Satan wants to feed on the lies, right? He doesn’t feed on truth or holiness; He feeds on lies – on sin. So a sin that becomes a habit can become a stronghold, a fortress in a person’s mind, keeping them in bondage.

That’s why secrets can make people sick. If secrets are not brought out into the light, where truth can set people free, then uncrucified thoughts can become building materials for a demonic builder, because he’s continually allowed access. Think of it like this. Each time we practice a sinful habit, it can become another brick for the enemy to make his evil fortress [in our minds] a stronger stronghold.

The good news is, we have been given the helmet of salvation (see Ephesians 6:17). However, we must be certain it is securely in place. Liken the importance of its placement to that of a cyclist’s helmet. If the motorcyclist leaves the helmet at home and goes out to participate in a race, it provides absolutely no protection.

I believe Holy Spirit is enlightening us to prepare for a more intense battle of the mind because He knows we can usually keep on marching with a body wound, but if we have a head wound…the fight might be over! We could be KO’d, so to speak. We must be prepared to crucify whatever we find that is not like Jesus. How awesome to know that Satan will flee when he realizes the attacks he’s trying to defeat us with are actually perfecting us in Christ.

#2 – We Are Entering into the Year of the Family

The Lord is calling His church back to the basics. In the beginning God created Adam and Eve, showing us how extremely important family is to Him. The Lord has always wanted, longed for, love and harmony. How blessed we are to be alive as He still pursues unity today – restoring all things (see Acts 3:21).

A quick look at other Scriptures show us the importance of family:

First Chronicles 16:43 shows us David returned home to bless his family.

Proverbs 11:29 says, “He who brings trouble on his family will inherit only wind.”

In Mark 5:19, Jesus Himself said, “Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you.”

And lastly, Ephesians 3:14–15 says, “For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.” Verse 19 goes on to say, “to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Consequently, it’s our relationship with God, who is love and is in relationship with His family, who is our family, that we shall be perfected.

There’s also an element of protection as families bind together during difficult times. We see during Passover how God protected every family that put the blood of the lamb on the doorposts of the homes. This could indicate that the Lord wants us to be closely knit families…biologically, spiritually, and emotionally – not scattered about, but AS ONE!

#3 – This Will Be the Year of the Sword

As we see turmoil on the earth, we must be able and willing to divide soul and spirit, joint and marrow. The Lord teaches how to accomplish this in Hebrews 4:12: “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart."

As we see deep darkness seeking to cover the earth, we must differentiate between what is worldly and what is spiritual. Otherwise, earthly catastrophes could inundate our soul. Our soul (personality, feelings, and emotions) must be divided from our spirit (likened to the marrow inside) for here lies our will, where we make decisions, not based on feelings but rather on the promises of God…by faith.

We cannot be governed by our thoughts or feelings. For our feelings are simply emotional responses to thoughts. So, we don’t actually respond to reality – we respond to our thoughts about reality, which may or may not be an accurate representation of reality. Therefore, if we believe that all things work together for good, we must live in and function from a Heavenly Kingdom reality, where we are already seated (see Ephesians 2:6), and allow God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

The Living Word is a sword and when we receive truth and revelation, we rejoice, as the sword becomes our defender. Everyone in the army of God must have a sword. And the sword must be drawn from the sheath. John writes in Revelation 1:16: “And he (Jesus) had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword.”

This says to me that the sword must be drawn from the sheath, and spoken, to become active and sharp!

Oh, may this be a year of speaking and praying the Word until strongholds are broken down in the heavenlies. Jesus is the living Word! He already defeated Satan at Calvary. Now, we must take up the spoken word and enforce that victory!

#4 – We’ll See a Year of Truth in 2009

The Lord showed me there will be no more place for private versus public lives. Ephesians 6:14 tells us to: “Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth….

Immediately upon receiving this prophetic insight, Holy Spirit gave me a vision of rats scurrying from the center of a room, trying to find corners of deep darkness. The rats represented sin. As they ran, they could not find any dark places to hide because, at every turn, there stood a Christian, a little Christ, who was arising and shining! Everywhere sin tried to harbor, there was light.  Light, light, light!

The light was not shining to judge but to say, “Would you like to know about this light? His name is Jesus. He’s the bright Morning Star! He has come so that truth might set you free.”

#5 – The Lord is Calling His Church into His Righteousness

Holy Spirit spoke to me about another crucial piece of His armor. As darkness seeks to cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples, we need to be certain to have our covering of righteousness in place. Again, it must not be left behind as we enter battles, or it is useless. Ephesians 6:14 reminds us, “Having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness”

Isn’t it awesome to know the Lord shares His righteousness with us because He knows we’re going to encounter evil? Righteousness is an attribute of God, not of man, as ours is as filthy rags (see Isaiah 64:6).

Friends, the kingdom of God is righteousness (see Romans 14:17). And, it’s the Lord’s armor that we put on, as seen in Isaiah 59:17 where it says, “He put on righteousness like a breastplate.” How awesome, then, that He allows us to use it to fight for Him.

# 6 – We Will Go Out with Joy and Rejoicing

At first thought, this could seem uncomfortable when we see the turbulence in the world. But then we recall – we are not of this world. We are simply a mist, a vapor. And, the world did not give us joy unspeakable, so it cannot take it away.

We also remember in Nehemiah, chapter 8, the Word tells us the joy of the LORD is our strength. His joy, His strength!

What a wonderful declaration from Holy Spirit for this season, beloved. I actually see an outrageous joy coming to the church in the midst of turbulent times. Why? Because God knows we need it – if we lose our joy, we lose our strength. After all, the kingdom of God is joy, as we see in Romans 14:17.

Also, when we think of harvest, we think of seasons of hard work, tilling the soil, sowing and praying for rain. Oh, and then comes the reaping! Then comes the joy! Families and neighbors, young and old, are dancing and rejoicing while they gather in the fruit of their labors – sharing meals together and singing praises to their God. Something about…bringing in the sheaves, I believe.

#7 – A Year of the Miraculous is Upon Us

This is just a given, beloved. Since the earth is filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, and the glory is the bounty of God…all that He has…and all that He is, then how could He not show up with a demonstration of His miraculous power? He is the Miracle Worker.

Oh, how men must see and hear of His mighty works, that every knee shall bow.

In this hour, we simply cannot depend on the government to take care of the poor, the sick and the homeless. Truly, it is the responsibility of the church – that is God’s eternal plan. It is one that does not require procedures or a tax-exempt status, only a couple loaves of bread, some fish, and faith
