What Are You Calling In?by Sheila VincentThe word says God calls those things that be not as though they were:(As it is written, I have made thee a Father of many Nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and CALLETH those things which be not as though they were. (Romans 4:17) Many years ago, I was at a conference where the speaker was teaching on this scripture. He did a little demonstration to get the point across. It had quite an impact on me and I have never forgotten it. He sat on the edge of the stage and demonstrated, if you want the dog, do not CALL the cat. In his little act, he wanted the dog, but was CALLING, “Here kitty, kitty, meow, meow.” He taught how people who want healing will CALL in sickness by saying, “I’m catching a cold.”, instead of CALLING in healing by saying, “By the stripes of Jesus I am healed.” What I learned was, if you want the answer, don’t CALL in the problem. The scripture does not say; CALL those things that are, the way they are. But, CALL those things that be not as though they were. God did not CALL Abraham "too old to have children." (If He would have, Isaac would not have been conceived.) He CALLED him "A Father of many Nations." In Genesis.1:2, we read, “The earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face the deep.” Notice, God did not say, “oh my goodness, it is so dark down there, what are we going to do?” (If He would have, it would have gotten darker.) No, He CALLED in the light. (With His words) “Then God said, Let there be light, and there was light.” Genesis 1:3 In Genesis 1:27 the bible says that God created man in his own image: “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God created He Him. He created man in His image and put His creative power in us, so that we also can CALL those things that be not as though they were." Another example would be, when you see the enemy TRYING to attack, don’t CALL yourself ‘under’ that attack, by saying; I’m under attack. If he is trying to attack you; you want to CALL yourself; ‘above’ that attack by saying, (According to Colossians.3:1 and Ephesians1:20-22) “I am raised with Christ. Therefore, I am seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. I am far above ALL principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age, but in that which is to come.” This is like swimming upstream. The flesh wants to CALL situations the way they look in the natural. It is by the power of the Spirit that you CALL those things that be not as though they were. Another way of saying this would be "Prophetic Decrees." PROPHETIC DECREESJob 22:28 says, ”Decree a thing and it shall be established.”The bible is full of Prophetic Decrees. God made these decrees. He has already decreed awesome words over the church. Ephesians 5:27 says, He CALLS the Church “a Glorious Church, not having spot or wrinkle.” Isaiah 60:1-3 says, He CALLED for His Glory to arise over the Church when darkness is covering the earth. 1Peter 2:24 says, He CALLED the Church healed by His stripes. What He wants us to do is to agree with what He has already CALLED or Prophetically Decreed. PRAYER FOCUS FOR DECEMBER 2007Prayers for the Body of ChristWe decree; Isaiah 60:1-3(The body of Christ will) “Arise and shine for your light has come! And the Glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But The Lord will arise over (the body of Christ), And His Glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” Galatians.5:1 (The body of Christ will) “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” SPECIFIC PRAYERS FOR XPmedia
