They Will Doubtless Come!

by Kim Hadaway

I love the poetic way the King James Version states certain scripture. Last week the Lord woke me with this phrase, “they will doubtless come.”

I knew this was in Psalm 126 and it referred to the harvest. The Lord is reminding and encouraging us that there is no doubt we will reap where we have sown.

“Those who sow in tears will reap in joy, He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing precious seed for sowing, will doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing in his sheaves with him!!” (Psalm 126:5, 6).

There are many in the body, which have sown for years and done so with tears. This may be in the area of finance, wayward children, marriages, illness, for the lost, for healing, revival, etc. Some have even felt as if they’ve been held captive by these issues in their lives.

But God wants to encourage us all that it is harvest season. It is also a season of thanksgiving. God is faithful and He does not and cannot lie. His word is true.

The children of Israel state in Psalm 126:1 that when we were set free from captivity, we were like those who dream. I believe we have entered into a place of seeing our dreams come true. In verse 2, it states even the nations took notice of the fact they were a blessed people. The Lord has done great things for them, and we agree the Lord has done great things for us. We are filled with joy and thanksgiving!

I feel the Lord wants us to take note of the areas where He has blessed us and where we see the fruit coming in and rejoice in them all.

The same day the Lord gave me this word in Psalm 126, He took me back to a place where my husband and I had lived when we were first married. We had been married a year and were blessed with being able to buy this beautiful home from a retired couple. The backyard was filled with several fruit trees and several other varieties of beautiful trees, plants, and flowers. They had cleared out a piece of land, tilled it, pulled all the weeds and rocks and it was fertile, ready for planting.

My husband and I had no knowledge of gardening, but it didn’t matter. They had done the major preparation for us. All we had to do was plant the seed. Soon, we began to see the beautiful plants break through the earth. First the vines came forth, then the fruit. We saw the first tomato, the first squash, cucumbers, okra, cantaloupe, and we were so excited. We saw the fruit coming forth.

But in the beginning, it was one or two tomatoes and when they turned ripe we ate them. We had enough for Bart, I and our precious little girl. We were so thankful, but before long the garden began to produce so much it literally came upon us and overtook us. We had so much we couldn’t give it away fast enough.

This is the beautiful part of harvest. The Lord takes care of us and our families, but He doesn’t want us to stop there. We are to give out of the abundance we have been given and when we do, we will literally be overtaken with blessing. Some of you have been the ones tilling the ground and you and your families and the lost will reap where you have toiled. Some are in the place of reaping were others have toiled, but praise the Lord, we can all give where we have been given. Jesus gave us all the greatest gift of all!

Let’s rejoice in our Father’s Love for us and thank Him for all He has done for us! Even if right now you only see two tomatoes on your vine, rejoice, because the harvest has begun!

Father, we come before you with Thanksgiving in our hearts, with joy and laughter, with praise for all you have done for us! We praise you for the harvest, for the areas that others labored and we are reaping. We praise you for your words that for those seeds we have sown, we will reap the harvest in joy.
