Growing in the Supernatural

by Natalie Hedrick

In a vision the Holy Spirit showed me a circular, well-tended garden. In the midst of the garden was an unusual in-ground spring that had watering channels throughout to sustain the property. A part of the garden was ready to be tended by the grounds keeper to remove decay and weeds in order to prepare the soil for the season’s sowing and growing. Another portion of the garden remained dormant while the rest had brilliant, fragrant blossoms of all sizes and shapes that sprang to life before my very eyes.

Ready for Sowing and Growing

Revelation came that as a Body we represent the garden as God represents the grounds keeper.  After a long, hard winter which might have been riddled with trials or hardships, many of us are ready for a good spiritual “spring” cleaning. As we seek the Lord, he washes us clean with the blood of Christ. As we praise and worship Him our hearts are tilled and primed for a new harvest. We are receptive with desire for a fresh deposit of His anointing as His grace and mercy flows through us in hopes of overflowing to others. We are ripe for growing in the Supernatural.

The Portion that Remains Dormant

Regardless of the season, there are some who just want to stay safe and sung in the ground. Like dormant seeds, they’re comfortable being in their box. So deep-seated in the soil, their hearts have become like stone. They may be petrified by fear, deep wounds, addictions, anger, un-forgiveness, or even the spirit of unbelief. Their outer shell has become so hardened that when the life-giving water comes their true potential for growth remains latent.  When the time comes, it will be the ground keeper’s hands that determine the outcome of this section of garden.

The Brilliant Blossoms

Last but not least are those who rise up beyond their circumstances. Possessing a hearty foundation in worship and praise along with soaking up scripture, these wildflower pioneers persevere and press on no matter what. They seem to supernaturally grow, blossom, and flourish because it never occurred to them to do otherwise. Immersed in life-giving water, miraculous signs and wonders trail them wherever they go as they spring forth in love. They expect no less as extraordinary faith and devotion bloom from such an intimate relationship with the Father. Big or small, they cannot help sprout from remnant parts of the garden, heady with the fragrance of the Holy Spirit. They choose the destiny given to them, for their Savior chose them long ago. They’re willing to come along side others to encourage and help them realize they are not alone; that they also have a destiny to grow in the supernatural love of Jesus Christ.

Scripture to Consider:

“On the final and climactic day of the Feast, Jesus took his stand. He cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Rivers of living water will brim and spill out of the depths of anyone who believes in me this way, just as the Scripture says…" (John 7:37-38 The Message)

“…In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.” (James 1:21 The Message)

“You'll be like a well-watered garden, a gurgling spring that never runs dry. You'll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew, rebuild the foundations from out of your past. You'll be known as those who can fix anything, restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate, make the community livable again.” (Isaiah 58:8-10 The Message)

“For we are fellow workmen (joint promoters, laborers together) with and for God; you are God's garden and vineyard and field under cultivation, [you are] God's building.” (1 Corinthians 3:9 Amplified Bible)

“And now, Lord, observe their threats and grant to Your bond servants [full freedom] to declare Your message fearlessly, While You stretch out Your hand to cure and to perform signs and wonders through the authority and by the power of the name of Your holy Child and Servant Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place in which they were assembled was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they continued to speak the Word of God with freedom and boldness and courage. Now the company of believers was of one heart and soul, and not one of them claimed that anything which he possessed was [exclusively] his own, but everything they had was in common and for the use of all. And with great strength and ability and power the apostles delivered their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace (loving-kindness and favor and goodwill) rested richly upon them all.” (Acts 4:29-33 Amplified Bible)

Sometimes in order to be the “Brilliant Blossom” and grow, we must clear the clutter and get back to the basics. Below are a select few of the values that Patricia, herself brought before the Lord to keep the ministry intact with integrity and purity. Please pray them over yourselves, Patricia & Ron, and the XP Team.

Prayers and Decrees for the Body and XP Team:

Pray that we, as a Body and as individuals:

  1. Exalt Jesus in all that we do!
  2. Have an unmatched passion for Christ and His Kingdom; that we love the Lord with all our heart, all our mind and all our strength (Matthew 22:37). To continue a daily commitment in personal devotion and worship for our first love, Jesus. Also, to continue to ground ourselves in the word of God.
  3. Continue to ground ourselves in the word of God and the love for the cross. God make covenant with man on the cross. Our salvation and the love He has for us are based on everything it represents.
  4. Have unwavering faith – that all things are possible through him if only we believe. Faith that we will move from glory to glory; faith that the written word of God is who we are in Christ. Faith that we can and will move mountains – moving in miracles, signs, and wonders together for the glory of God.
  5. Ground ourselves in Godly character -- purity, righteousness coupled with integrity, honesty, and wisdom.
Have mercy and compassion for others. Mercy triumphs over judgment! (James 2:13) May we continue show grace for each other – speaking words that edify with hearts ready to forgive and forget transgressions. May we consider each other with love, honor and respect.
  6. Create and maintain unity. May we keep a team spirit – with each other and other individuals and ministries in the Body of Christ. May we continue to come along side others and help/encourage them to achieve their goals and dreams.
  7. Keep an attitude of humility and servanthood preferring others as higher than ourselves.
    • Pray that our aim is to serve those we come alongside, and those we minister to.
    • Decree that our purpose is to assist them in coming fully into the destiny call on their lives.
    • Pray that all attitudes of self-promotion, desire for name or fame, financial gain, and self-agendas must be laid down at the foot of the cross.
  8. Pray that we as a Body and as a ministry remain teachable, humbling ourselves to trust the timing of the Lord in our lives. Faithful servant hood brings promotion.

Additional Prayer Request:

  1. Pray for the “Growing in the Supernatural” conference this month. May God’s hand be in the midst of it all as the angels are brought forth for every speaker, team member, volunteer, and attendee to be touched in a supernatural way that moves them to a closer relationship with Jesus.
  2. May God’s protection be over Patricia King, the speakers, the worship team and their families physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, as well as financially.
  3. More Lord, more love, more power, more of the things of the Glory realm. Amen!
