Step into the Light - Become the Light

A. Prophetic Encouragement

Friends, what an exciting time we live in. We are given the privilege by our Almighty God to be the ones to bring in the end time harvest. Through our dreams and visions (which He places in our heart) we have the opportunity to co-labor with the Lord to see the in heritance of Jesus completely restored to Him. Just think of it! He could do this all alone, but we have been chosen to do it instead. Amazing! If you are like me, your Christian walk has been full of joyful expectancy and anticipation of what God is going to do next, but there still exists the questions of: how will God use me in his end time army; what role will I play; and how will the vision I am carrying unfold. Today, I believe the Lord is giving you a personal invitation to, “Step into the Light and become the Light”, because in the light many of the questions of your heart will be answered.

B. Devotional Teaching

I was meditating on Isaiah 60 and God called my attention to the word “Light” in Isaiah 60:1. When I looked it up I found it was the Hebrew word “owr”, which had several meanings, with the main one being “To become light”. Then my attention was drawn to Isaiah 60:19 where it states that, “God will be your everlasting light”. I felt He was saying that He wants to send us out into the world into the dark places both foreign and domestic, streets to marketplaces to governments, but He wants us to “become light”; to become as He is and we can do that by “stepping into” the One who is Light.

Stepping into Him implies a call to a deeper more intimate relationship. When you truly have intimacy with another you can be open and honest with them, share secrets and things from the depths of your being and there is trust; a bond that can only be found in true covenant relationship. Using some of the other meanings of light or “owr” I will share with you what I believe the Lord wants to do within these times of deep intimacy with you:

He wants to expose all the hidden and dark things and bring you into righteous alignment. Job 33:30 talks about coming out of darkness and being enlightened with the light of life. In this place I believe the Lord will illuminate all the areas, “the little foxes” that may seem like no big deal for where you are now, but when He brings you to your next level will, “spoil your vine”.
He wants to bring refreshing and healing. In 1 Samuel 14:29 it talks about Jonathon being so hungry after being in battle that he ate honey from a honey comb and his “countenance brightened”. Some of you have been growing weary and hungry from battle after battle and the Lord wants to refresh and strengthen you.
He wants to give you direction. God gave the Israelites a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night to guide them and cover them or as Psalm 105:39 states, He “illumined” their path. God wants to point you in the right direction. Some of you have been feeling like you have been “shooting in the dark”. You have maybe even seen some good things happen, but it has been as if you have been wondering in the dark hoping that you are making the right decision. God is about to shed some light on your path and give you blessed assurance and if you happen to be a little off, no worries, God will help you get back on track.
God wants to bring back Life!!! David cries out to the Lord in Psalm 13:3 asking Him to enlighten his eyes lest he sleep the sleep of death. What came to me in this is Proverbs 29:18 which states, “Where there is no vision my people perish.” Go wants to give you fresh vision and for those of you who have vision that has been aborted, still birthed or died, God wants to give it the breathe of life. He knows that once you have a clear direction; a clear vision your life is going to become meaningful and exciting once again and for some of you for the first time.
He wants to illuminate you! Did you know that you were created for greatness? God not only wants to prepare your vessel to be used by Him, but he wants you to shine!!! He wants you to become the light; the image of Him because He is light. In Isaiah 60:7 God says he will glorify the house of His Glory. That’s you!!!

Why does God want to do all of this? He showed me the following in Isaiah 60:

In verse 2 it talks about darkness covering the earth and deep darkness the people. God is about to send you to shine His glorious light in very dark places, but you must be able to say as Jesus did, the enemy of this world is coming but he has nothing in me! There can be no mixture of any kind in you and you must be one that will not bow your knee to Baal. Your mind must be set on things above and your eye must be single.

In verse 3 it talks about the gentiles and the kings coming to your light. As your light shines forth free of mixture and compromise the commoners and the kings are going to come to you and you will have favor with them.

In verses 4-9 it talks about the many diverse blessings that you will receive. Because of the light that will be seen upon you, you will have blessings come upon you and overtake you. God wants you to be blessed, because He wants to bless His children and the more blessed you are the more you are able to bless others and further His kingdom. He is looking for someone that will not only receive the blessing, but will be a blessing to others.

In verse 6 & 9 it talks about God being revealed and praised by the people. As you receive blessing, honor glory and power, because of God’s light upon you, you have the awesome privilege of pointing the masses, the “sea” as it states in verse 5 to the Most High God, giving all the blessing, honor, glory and power that he has bestowed upon you back on Him. It states in verse 9 that this is the reason he will glorify you with His light!!!

Isn’t that amazing? God has such wonderful plans for you and His heart is to get you ready, so that you will be successful, blessed and happy in the assignment He has for you. What’s more, in verse 22 He states that one shall become a thousand and a small one a strong nation. Your vision; your call is going to be much bigger than you can imagine. Exceedingly and abundantly all you can ask or think. He goes on further in that same verse to say, I the Lord, will hasten in its time. Can you say acceleration? That means the same things that took you years before are going to happen so much quicker and with much more ease then before. What an awesome God we serve!

In closing, God is calling you to go deeper with Him and this means step into Him. Get to know Him by name (and He has many). Begin to seek out the mysteries of the Kingdom. There is a deeper love and intimacy that you have not yet experienced and He is inviting you to discover it. Even if you are intimate with God He is saying there is more. The light of his love will purify, enlighten, revive, direct and illuminate you. Step into the Light. Become the Light!!!
